The menus were a little small for my eyes but all in all it was an okay game

It wasn't bad, I liked how the multiplyer and gift worked it's way down so it gave you some extra strategy to exploit.

The control setup is very awkward and the enemies seem to just run away, making it way easy

It was interesting until it turned out to be a dang DEMO, you could have mentioned that.
Luckily it's a demo however because your novel needs some proof-reading.
